Have you heard about this!? Lionsgate is building a theme park in South Korea… 7 different themes, and one is based on The Hunger Games. Why does all the cool stuff happen NOT in the U.S. Sigh… Get those passports ready I guess.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the different ‘themed worlds’ will include The Hunger Games, Now You See Me, Divergent, Saw, The Cabin In The Woods, the upcoming film Robin Hood, and The Twilight Saga. This is terrifying and exciting at the same time. Saw? Cabin In The Woods? I may need to rock some adult diapers while strolling through those ones.
Lionsgate has seen success with Hunger Games attractions in the past. At Motiongate Dubai, a Hollywood inspired theme park, Lionsgate has two rides based on the movie franchise… the Panem Aerial Tour, and the Capitol Bullet Train. Since they’ve opened, both have become two of the most popular rides in the park.
Lionsgate is hoping to have the theme park up and running for 2019. They’ve been talking about this project for quite a while. Peep the video I dug up from 2015 below!!! And as always, hit me up on Twitter @MikeAdamOnAir and let me know… are you into the park? Which of the 7 themes do you think would be your favorite?
