The Vamps teamed up with Danish DJ/producer Martin Jensen for their latest single “Middle of the Night” off their third studio album, “Night & Day.” The music video hit YouTube on May 15th, and currently has 4.6M+ video views. It’ll finally be released to U.S. radio on the 22nd of this month.
The Vamps grabbed their first UK #1 album with “Night & Day,” and now they’re hoping to achieve more ‘firsts’ with this new single. But will “Middle of the Night” do big things for them? I think so. I mean, it already has, depending on what your definition of a successful single is. Of course, the big question is, will the song breakthrough in the U.S. market? Like other acts such as JLS and Little Mix, The Vamps have seen SO much success overseas but still struggle with making their mark in the United States.
The Vamps have the talent… we’ve known that from day one. They’re just one song away from becoming a household name in America. “Middle of the Night” is a solid song. The 3:08 minute song will give you serious Kygo and/or Major Lazer vibes. The verses will hold your attention for sure, but the fireworks happen when the chorus hits almost a minute into the song. It’s pop perfection. But is the chorus enough to make it chart stateside? I sure hope so. I personally think this is one of their best top-40 offerings. August 22nd isn’t far out, so we’ll see how the song fairs with U.S. radio soon enough.
