Zedd Is Excited For Kesha’s Return: “I think the world has been waiting”

On the heels of his epic Good Morning America performance this morning, which featured his most recent collaborators Alessia Cara and Liam Payne on the GMA stage alongside the EDM pioneer, Zedd dropped by 92.3 AMP Radio to take over the airwaves with DJ Toro for his #Trending8at8 countdown.

While in the studio, Zedd spoke of another collaborator, Kesha, who has just exploded back onto the scene with new music after taking an unwanted break due to legal issues.

Zedd was granted an exception to Kesha’s musical hold and had the opportunity to release an old song of his with her called “True Colors” back in April of 2016. Today, Zedd says he’s thrilled that Kesha is getting back in the game and is already a fan of her new work.

“I’ve heard the single [“Praying”], which I think is amazing.”

“She’s obviously been through the roughest time,” he continued. “I can’t imagine what that feels like to be an artist and not be allowed to release music.”

“It’s incredible. She’s back,” says Zedd about her latest releases. “I think the world has been waiting.”

With her new album, Rainbow, set for release on August 11th, Zedd couldn’t be happier for her.

“So now she’s finally able to release new music on her own, so yeah, I’m super happy for her. She’s so great, so she deserves it.”

The DJ/Producer also pointed out that his latest single, “Get Low” featuring former One Directioner Liam Payne was released on the same day as Kesha’s “Praying.”
