Jack & Jack Talk Timbaland, New Music, and More

Jack and Jack are still flying high off the success of their ‘Gone’ EP… but that doesn’t mean they’re stopping to smell the roses just yet. The two longtime friends, who initially met in kindergarten, know they still have a lot of work to do. “The intent of that project [Gone EP] was just to be something cool and conceptual… never to be pushed to radio”, said Jack Johnson. Jack Gilinsky added, “But we will go with, like, a brand new song that is unreleased as of now. It’ll be released in probably the next month.” J & J also added that they’d like to hit the road again soon, for their own headlining tour, either towards the end of this year or early next year.

At this point, Jack and Jack have released two official EPs, plus numerous ‘one off’ songs. I was curious if there was one song that the guys really had high hopes for… the song that they thought would make them a household name, but never popped off the way they expected it to. Johnson, without hesitation, responded with, “Wrong One. I love that song.” But would J & J ever rework it and release it? “Now doing this for three years professionally, we’re better at what we do”, says Gilinsky. “That’s why I feel like it would be awesome to go back and recreate some of those songs, but at the same time though… it is what it is. It’s better to focus on the new.”

Also during the interview, the guys touched on their relationship with super-producer Timbaland, as well as the elephant in the room… the controversy surrounds Jack Gilinsky and Madison Beer. Gilinsky remained silent about the infamous audio that was leaked, but Johnson had a brief message for their fans. Hear all that and more below.
