Singer Bebe Rexha is currently enjoying the success of her upcoming All Your Fault: Pt. 2 EP single “The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody)” featuring rapper Lil Wayne and will be performing this Friday (June 30th) as part of the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series in NYC’s Rockefeller Square — both occasions for some serious celebration, perhaps with the significant other in her life.
Speaking about her love life with 92.3 AMP Radio’s Shoboy and Nina, Bebe explained what it is she looks for in a man and even admitted she has never even taken a boy home to meet her parents. Bebe says her perfect mate would be “somebody who treats me nice, who’s respectful and that my parents like because my parents are very picky.”
Brooklyn-born and Staten Island raised, Bleta “Bebe” Rexha’s ethnic Albanian parents are father Flamur Rexha, who was born in Macedonia and emigrated to the United States when he was just 21, and her mother Bukurije Rexha, who was born in the U.S. from an Albanian family also descending from Macedonia.
Rexha told Shoboy she’s never had that awkward dating moment where her father has sent a potential boyfriend away from his home, simply because she holds him in such high regard. “I have never brought a boy home ever in my life — I respect my dad too much,” she explains. “I grew up really traditional,” she continued. “Sometimes I feel like I’m asexual or something.”
However, when Nina chimed in with some loving advice about “waiting for that special someone,” Bebe realized she may have had it all wrong.
“Maybe I can’t keep a man, because I haven’t found a real one yet… Maybe they’ve all just been boys.”
Aside from the new EP in the works and her upcoming GMA performance on Friday (June 30), Bebe Rexha is also preparing to release a collaborative single with Florida Georgia Line in the coming weeks, so be on the lookout.
