Korea’s largest concert venue… the Seoul Olympic Stadium, that’s where K-Pop group EXO decided to wrap up their “The EXO’rDIUM” world tour on May 27th and 28th. Both sold-out nights combined ushered in approximately 70,000 dedicated EXO fans. EXO member Kai stated, “It’s an honor to be performing on the same stage as groups like H.O.T, god, and Shinhwa. We will show you the greatest performance we’ve ever given.”
EXO’s third world tour kicked off last July. Since then, they’ve hit 17 cities and held 37 concerts. Some stops included Thailand, Japan, and China. And while in North America, the guys hit the stage in Jersey on April 25th at the Prudential Center.
So, what’s next? Well, based on an interview the group recently did with Billboard, it doesn’t seem like fans will have to wait too much longer for new material from the talented bunch. “We’ll most likely return to you during hot days with music to refresh you.” That sure sounds like a summer release to me, right!?
With fellow K-Pop group BTS getting a whole lot of love from Billboard, and more specifically, the Billboard Music Awards this year (they took home Top Social Artist, and walked their first U.S. red carpet ever), EXO-Ls want in on the action. They’ve been AGGRESSIVELY pushing for EXO to perform, or at least be invited, to the VMAs at the end of August. Will their overwhelming social media presence be enough to get the boys to the MTV award show? Hey, it worked for BTS, so we’ll see.
