The Story Behind Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna’s Collaboration “Loyalty”

Have you had a chance to listen to Kendrick Lamar’s album, “Damn”? It’s pretty genius.

The Fader reported that the producers who worked on Kendrick’s album broke down the process and it all started with the “24K Magic” sample. They said they took the song and made some changes to make it fit Kendrick’s vision.

“I wanna replay it, reverse it, change the key, add a third harmony — do all these things to it. But still make it sound just like the sample, but with a different edge.”

After Kendrick heard it, it was that moment he said he needed to get Rihanna on that track and the rest is history! Interesting right? I geek out on stuff like this and needed to share. Artists always get inspiration from other artists.
