Axwell /\ Ingrosso teased concert goers with a snippet of their collaboration with Kid Ink during the Sunburn Festival in India over New Year’s holiday weekend, later sharing it with world over Facebook with the working title “I Love You.” The track is now a certified banger and the duo broke down the pieces brought together to make it work.
“We were in LA and we were listening to some songs and met some songwriters,” Ingrosso says of their first encounter with Madison Love, who provides vocals for the chorus. “Then we said, ‘Okay, we need a rapper on this.’ We think that’s a cool combination with him and her doing a duet.”
Axwell and Ingrosso were on the search for a rapper with the ability to lay bars on their melody, which is when they landed on Kid Ink.
“We were also lucky because, maybe he was open minded,” adds Axwell. “Sometimes we want to work with a rapper and he’ll be like, ‘Where do I fit into ‘Don’t you worry child?’ They have to be open for it a little bit. And he was.”
