Austin Mahone Is Looking Forward to Working with Steve Aoki

He hasn’t even hit his 21st birthday yet but YouTube star turned mega-pop act Austin Mahone is continuing to prove himself as one of the hardest working artists in the business. But that certainly doesn’t mean he’s about to slow down.

“There’s always more to accomplish,” Austin told 92.3 AMP Radio’s DJ Niko during their Facebook LIVE chat today.

“I’m getting into the whole fashion scene right now — I’m just getting into it, so that’s a lot of fun — and I’m still working on more music every year, and I just released a project, called ‘For Me + You’.”

Featured on the mixtape is a remake, or upgrade (whichever you prefer) of the classic Modjo track “Lady” featuring Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull. If you’re down in Miami you can catch the duo performing live on Pitbull’s After Dark cruise this March.

Giving us a taste of what the future holds for #Mahomies anxiously awaiting new music, Austin filled us in on his budding bromance with EDM star Steve Aoki.

“It was weird,” says Austin about how it all came together.

“He followed me on Twitter, I followed him back… we exchanged numbers and we were talking about working together, getting together soon to record. I was just at my hotel [in NYC] last night playing pool in the lobby and his manager came up and was like, ‘Yo, I’m Steve Aoki’s manager… we’re staying here too… he just did Jimmy Fallon… we’re gonna watch the show downstairs in the theater, you should come watch it with us.'”

Long-story-short: “You might be expecting a Steve & Austin project coming out soon,” says Austin. “Keep your ears to the streets.”
