As election returns came in, Lady Gaga was at the would-be Hillary Clinton victory rally in New York City. When the night turned south for Clinton, she joined other celebrities to voice their shock and disdain. And as 100,000 New Yorkers gathered on Fifth Avenue near Trump Tower to protest the outcome of the election, Gaga and DJ Samantha Ronson (Mark, Joanne producer’s sister) were there to support the movement.

As protesters gathered in the streets and grew in numbers across major cities, Gaga tweeted messages of hope and support.

“Stand up for kindness, equality, and love,” she wrote. “Nothing will stop us.”

She wrote about fighting to maintain the changes made during Obama’s two terms.

“I hope any scared people today remember that the social change you achieved these past eight years is still intact and we will protect it.”

And she reiterated her disdain for Donald Trump.

“The chaos in USA is the result of Trump’s irresponsible campaigning. He is not a role model, look at this mess he created.”
