Clarkson has been more vocal than others over the years about her political views. In 2012, she told the U.K.’s Daily Star that even though she’s a “Republican at heart” she planned on voting for President Obama again, adding, “I can’t support Romney’s policies as I have a lot of gay friends and I don’t think it’s fair they can’t get married.”
In 2011, she also received a barrage of backlash when she tweeted that she loved Ron Paul.
