Prince Royce on Donald Trump’s Mexico Comments: ‘Kind of Slimy’

Prince Royce is on the verge of his mainstream breakout: his latest album, Double Vision, is his fourth, but his first to be sung predominately in English, and his current single, “Back It Up,” teams him with other Latino stars Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull.

His parents are Dominican, but in a Radio.com interview yesterday, we asked him his thoughts on presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s recent controversial comments about Mexicans.

“Well, you know, I was disappointed,” Prince Royce said. “Not as a Latino, but in general. I just thought that those comments were unnecessary. I think if he had a viewpoint… we can all have an argument, or discuss things. But I thought it was just kind of dirty and lowball.”

Like many, he feels that Trump’s behavior has been inappropriate, particularly in regards to his feud with a prominent Univision anchorman.
