Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, “affectionately” known as “The Donald,” has been taking heat lately (and gaining support, too) over comments he made about South and Central American immigrants streaming into the United States. You know, like when he accused Mexico of sending the “worst people” here.
“They send people through that they don’t want,” Trump said.
The backlash lost him business, but seems to have gained him some new followers as well. One of those new followers is certainly not Cuban American rapper Pitbull. In a recent interview with Fusion‘s George Ramos, he explained what he thought of Trump’s comments and what he plans to do about it in his personal life.
“Donald Trump doesn’t become Donald Trump by being ignorant,” he told Fusion. “What I think about Trump is he found a button that he likes, he sees that it got people real mad and hot, and he’s gonna keep pushing it.”
But he doesn’t see himself setting foot in any of the real estate mogul’s properties anytime soon.
“Due to the fact of what has been said, no, I wouldn’t be able to go to his hotels,” Pitbull explained. “I just can’t. I can’t for the simple fact that you’re speaking about a culture that I ride, I die for. This culture’s the only reason I’m having this conversation right now.”
